Marine-Med's specialty is the use of quantitative epidemiological techniques for problem solving and disease investigations.  We are marine health detectives. We help individuals and organizations investigate the occurrence of health conditions in marine wildlife.

Together with our clients, we apply epidemiology to the study of infectious and non-infectious health concerns, health monitoring of wild and managed populations, evaluation of diagnostic test characteristics, and risk factor studies for the determinants of disease in marine fauna. You can view information on our projects and the studies we've published on this site.

History

Marine-Med was established by Dr. Norman in 1999 in recognition of the need to protect marine wildlife health, in the face of emerging diseases, climate change, and increasing interactions with humans. Marine-Med was formed to enable researchers, managers, and veterinarians to make informed decisions regarding the protection and conservation of marine wildlife.
